 | Wednesday, August 29th, 2018: Atlanta's Young Reaches 2000 Hits Atlanta's Delmon Young entered the record books today as he collected hit number 2000 at Turner Field. "I am proud of this. Not too many player reach this level. You have to be around quite a few years and you have to get a lot of hits," Young said after the game. On his milestone day he went 4 for 4 as the Braves won 8-7 over the New York (N) Mets. In his career Young has accumulated a .297 batting average with 2001 hits. His totals include 377 doubles, 61 triples, 304 home runs, 1117 strikeouts, 1107 runs scored, 1158 RBIs and a lifetime .369 OBP. |
